The South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) announced a preliminary number of ten people killed on South Carolina roadways during the Labor Day holiday period beginning Friday, September 2, at 6:00 p.m. until Monday, September 5, at 11:59 p.m.
The following weekend, SCDPS announced a preliminary number of 11 people killed in five fatal collisions on South Carolina roadways during the weekend beginning Friday, September 9, at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, September 11, at 11:59 p.m.
This past weekend, SCDPS announced a preliminary number of 12 people killed on South Carolina roadways during the weekend beginning Friday, September 16, at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, September 18, at 11:59 p.m.
Just over halfway through September 2022, South Carolina has already recorded 730 traffic fatalities on our roadways, which is 111 more than during the same time last year according to SCDPS.
